Community Adult Diabetes Nursing Service

The Community Adult Diabetes Nursing Service, run by Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT), provides education and advice to adults living with diabetes

Costing of a team of trained diabetes nurses and diabetes assistants, the service runs nurse-led clinics in Ashford, Canterbury, Dover/Deal, Shepway and Thanet and visit patients in their homes if they are unable to travel to a clinic

The team offers patients and carers advice about healthy living, diabetes treatments and initiation of insulin and other diabetes therapies that can be injected. They can also advise patients about blood glucose monitoring and how to use a glucometer, and support clinics for pregnant women who have pre-existing diabetes and for those who develop it during their pregnancy
