Cervical Screening Project

  • What is it: Cervical Screening Project by NHSX
  • Of interest to: Practice Managers, Practice Nurses
  • Summary: Please see below information on a current research project on Cervical Screening that requires participants:

Cervical Screening Recruitment

NHSX, a new joint unit that brings together teams from the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and NHS Improvement, is committed to improving Screening as one of the priority areas. To do this, we need to understand the needs of people delivering cervical screening so we can design better services that help them to do their jobs

What will happen

We are conducting site visits to locations across the UK to learn about the roles and responsibilities of staff delivering cervical screening. This will involve:

  • Short 1:1 interviews with the different roles
  • Observations of staff interacting with IT systems to learn about the context of problems

Who we’re looking for

  • A mixture of locations delivering cervical screening (e.g. GP practice, sexual health clinic, or alternative)
  • Representative practices across CCGs  (e.g. a mixture of rural/urban/large/medium/small)
  • Locations that include different roles (e.g. sample takers, nurse, GP, reception staff)
  • Locations that represent different IT systems (e.g. EMIS, OpenExeter etc)

How can you get involved

If you’re interested in helping us to build better services that work for staff and patients or if you’d like to learn more, please contact digitalresearch@nhsx.nhs.uk to see if you’re suitable to take part
